The commercial banking division of HSBC Holdings has signed an agreement with The Post Office to meet the needs of its business customers.

The deal will enable the bank’s business customers to make cash payments, withdraw funds as well as check account balances throughout the post office’s 11,500 branches in the UK.

The current move is an extension of HSBC’s partnership with The Post Office, which already serves HSBC’s personal customers.

HSBC UK commercial banking head Ian Stuart said: "The extension of our partnership with Post Office has broadened the range of channels available to our business customers to access banking services.

"Customers with business debit cards can now access a number of important services at Post Office counters, including cash deposits, cash withdrawals and balance enquiries."

The Post Office has been delivering services to customers of partner banks from 2002, allowing client banks to serve customers located in remote rural places with no branches.
