Indian private sector lender HDFC Bank has revealed plans to open 200 branches across state of Kerala over the next two years.
The bank said that the decision is part of its commitment to support inclusive growth and ensure that they reach out to empower people and enable them to do formal banking.
HDFC Bank branch banking head Dhiraj Relli, after the official inauguration of the bank’s 150th branch in suburban Kakkanad, said: "In Kerala, we are looking forward to extending our branch network to 200 branches in 12 to 24 months. From the current level of 150 branches, we want to take the branch distribution to 200 branches."
"Our objective is to empower more people in Kerala, by offering them our full range of banking services, including digital initiatives thus making a difference in their lives.
"We have over one million customers in the state and are focusing on all possible segments, Agriculture segment, SME segment, individual customers," Relli added.
