FIS, a banking and payments technology company, has added biometric validation technology to its mobile banking application.

The technology will allow consumers and businesses using Cardless Cash ATM application to bank using fingerprint access instead of two-factor authentication.

FIS will provide biometric access to its mobile banking solution utilising Apple’s TouchID.

FIS senior vice president and general manager of mobile financial services Douglas Brown said: "One-touch Cardless Cash is unlike anything else in the market. The ability to access your account and withdraw money with just your fingerprint will make ATM access faster, safer and easier for users."

US-based lender The Bancorp will be one of the first financial services companies to offer FIS’s Cardless Cash to its banking customers.

The Bancorp CIO Pete Chiccino said:" As a leader in financial technology and banking services, The Bancorp is delighted to partner with FIS in offering fingerprint access to our customers. It’s something they can¹t currently get anywhere else."
