US-based First Niagara Financial Group has updated its mobile banking app with new features including remote deposit capture and one-swipe balance.
The remote deposit capture allows customers to take a snap of the cheque and deposit it using their smartphone, making a secure transaction through the mobile banking app.
The one-swipe balance feature allows customers to quickly view their account balance on their mobile devices without logging into their accounts, but does not favour transactions due to security reasons.
First Niagara retail planning director, Jay Clark, said the next phase of their mobile banking services really emphasises their strong focus on enabling their customers to bank when, where and how is most convenient for them.
"More and more customers are using a variety of online and offline methods to manage their finances. These new mobile features are the next steps to making that experience seamless," Clark added.
The app, which was initially launched in January 2013, currently has over 140,000 registered customers and is compatible with iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.
