
The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has entered an alliance with Nvidia to enable financial services firms to experiment with the US chipmaker’s AI products.
The initiative aims to accelerate “innovation” and support government directives to enhance UK economic growth.
The “Supercharged Sandbox” will provide financial services firms with access to Nvidia’s accelerated computing and AI Enterprise Software, alongside improved data, technical expertise, and regulatory support.
Nvidia financial technology EMEA head said: “AI is fundamentally reshaping the financial sector by automating processes, enhancing data analysis, and improving decision-making, which leads to greater efficiency, accuracy, and risk management across a wide range of financial activities.
“The FCA’s Supercharged Sandbox provides firms with a secure environment to explore AI innovations using Nvidia’s full stack accelerated computing platform, supporting industry-wide growth and efficiency
The programme is open to any financial services firm seeking to explore and innovate with AI during the discovery and experimentation phase.

By GlobalDataFor firms further along in their AI development, the FCA’s existing AI Live Testing service will continue to offer support for those ready to implement AI solutions.
FCA chief data, intelligence and information officer Jessica Rusu said: “This collaboration will help those that want to test AI ideas but who lack the capabilities to do so. We’ll help firms harness AI to benefit our markets and consumers, while supporting economic growth.”
In April this year, FCA announced it is seeking feedback from firms on its upcoming live AI testing service, set to launch in September 2025.
This initiative aims to help businesses implement AI safely and responsibly, for the benefit of consumers and the financial markets.
