Taiwan’s E.SUN Commercial Bank (E.SUN Bank) has opened its first branch in Vietnam in the southern province of Dong Nai.
E.SUN Bank president Joseph Huang said that the opening of the new Vietnam branch is part of the bank’s plan to expand its Asia operations.
The bank will initially offer financial services to Vietnamese and foreign businesses, particularly Taiwanese businesses.
However, it also plans to target the retail banking segment later on, Huang added.
The bank, currently serving 3,000 Taiwanese businesses, has a chartered capital of $30m and a license of 99 years.
