India-based DCB Bank is, reportedly, planning to expand its branch network from current 116 to 300 branches over the next two-three years across the country.
As part of its plans, DCB Bank has opened its third branch in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, and aims to set up 20 more in the state in next two years.
DCB Bank CEO and managing director, Murali Natarajan, said plans are on to launch 30-40 branches per year and reach 300 in another two to three years.
"The newest branch at Minjur, Tamil Nadu reflects our intent to grow retail banking outside of major metros and reach new and emerging locations.
"Our target is 50-60% of the new branches should be beyond tier-II cities where population is less, wealth is created and people get more income," Natrajan added.
DCB Bank, which currently has presence in northern and western India, plans to cover southern Indian states such as Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha in the near future.
