Arizona-based Credit Union West has deployed a new core processing solution, Episys, developed by Symitar, a division of Jack Henry & Associates.

The Episys core platform from Symitar offers five main advantages over competing systems including functionality, flexibility, connectivity, stability and community.

Episys is the most popular data processing system in the US, with assets ranging over $50m, which includes nearly 40% of all US credit unions with assets of $1bn or greater.

Currently, over 600 credit unions use the Episys platform for their data processing requirements. The Episys team meets the needs of credit unions ranging in assets from $3m to $10bn.

Credit Union West technology vice president, Scott Grundy, said their new core system needed to automate time-consuming manual processes; to support cost-effective and easy integration with the third-party ancillary products; and to provide the contemporary and flexible functionality they need to support their evolving business strategy and make their operations more efficient.

"Our technology evaluation fully convinced us Episys is the system most compatible with our known and planned requirements, and that Symitar has the proven track record for serving its clients as a true business partner with a vested interest in each credit union’s progress and performance," Grundy added.
