Chase, the US consumer and commercial banking business of JPMorgan Chase, has added Touch ID authentication for iPhones to its mobile banking application.
Touch ID will use customers’ fingerprints as a means of authenticating customers to log in to the Chase Mobile app for iPhone.
However, customers will need to enter their passwords for additional authentication to complete transactions, such as Chase QuickPay.
Chase will also offer a fingerprint authentication for its banking app on Android platform later in 2015.
Chase head of digital Gavin Michael said: "We’re focused on making mobile banking faster and simpler. Touch ID has been the number one request of our customers – and we are excited to deliver it to them.
