Spanish banking group BBVA has acquired Finish online business banking startup Holvi.
Set up in 2011, Holvi offers entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses various business services and traditional banking through its online platform.
Its products include an online sales platform, an invoicing facility as well as a cashflow tracker.
BBVA said that the startup will continue to operate as a stand-alone business, with a two-way flow of knowledge, ideas and support between Holvi and BBVA.
BBVA New Digital Businesses chief development officer and general manager Teppo Paavola said: "We’re excited about Holvi as we share a vision about the benefit of technology for the customer. They use digital to bring a new approach to small business banking, where services essential to a business’ future such as invoicing are built into their core offer."
