Austria’s Bawag has extended its service contract with German IT provider Wincor Nixdorf, under which Wincor will carry out operations management of its software platform and management and the maintenance of its self-service systems for another five years.

Wincor Nixdorf will maintain and manage the bank’s 1,200 self-service systems and will enhance software used in the self-service delivery channel.

Wincor Nixdorf said in a statement that the bank has been using its PC/E software platform to connect ATMs, cash recycling systems and transaction terminals to Bawag’s host system.

The IT provider has also developed the PC/E Smart Cash software, which enables users to withdraw money via a smartphone.

"All bank systems are linked to Wincor Nixdorf’s services infrastructure by the PC/E monitoring software to ensure a high level of availability of 250 ATMs, 800 transaction terminals and 165 cash recycling systems for the BAWAG P.S.K. customers," Wincor Nixdorf said.
