The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) has integrated its Bangkok branch with the Bank of Ayudhya, its Thai subsidiary.
BTMU had acquired the Bank of Ayudhya at the end of 2013, in an effort to expand footprint in Southeast Asia.
Post integration, Bank of Ayudhya will comprise nearly 4,000 Japanese corporate customers, as well as over 7 million individual customers.
Bank of Ayudhya president and CEO Noriaki Goto said that the bank will continue its customer-oriented policy despite the changed structure.
With the integration, BTMU seeks to boost business ventures between Japanese firms and local companies.
