California’s Bank of the West has extended its 21-year merchant referral agreement with Elavon, a payments provider, through 2021 enabling the referrals to be marketed via the bank’s 22-state network of over 650 commercial office and retail branch locations.
The agreement will allow the bank’s existing and new merchant customers to leverage innovative, and secure payment solutions, involving credit and debit card acceptance, reporting, a security program, and gift card and loyalty solutions.
Elavon will provide customers with access to enhanced EMV technology embedded with NFC readers to enable mobile payments and tablet based payment solutions that replace traditional cash registers.
Alan Newstead, senior vice president of retail banking product strategy at Bank of the West, said: At Bank of the West our customers are at the centre of our business, and we know Elavon is aligned with our commitment to provide service-oriented, long-term value to them; we look forward to building on our merchant services alliance."
