Bank Dhofar, Oman’s second largest bank, has launched a new credit card for students from all government and private universities and colleges in the country.

The card includes specificities such as a low credit limit and a grace period of interest for 45 days. It also comes with a free travel insurance cover, a free medical insurance and discounts offered at various shopping outlets and libraries in Oman and around the world.

"The launch of this card is a part of the bank’s strategy to provide innovative and unique products and services for all the segments of society," said Bank Dhofar’s management.

The population of Oman is very young, with over 50% under 25 years old and the number of students rises every year.

This new card follows the recent launch of the bank’s education loan and a specialised Youth and Student Banking offer specifically tailored for the young population of Oman.
