British banking giant Barclays has opened a new 63-acre technology campus in Whippany, New Jersey to deliver better services for customers and clients across the globe.

Part of Barclays’ global location strategy, the new campus brings together members of the bank’s  chief operating office – operations and technology – and functional teams from across the Americas.

The campus in Whippany houses a fitness centre, a health centre, and onsite childcare facility in addition to walking trails, as well as campus-wide WiFi.

Barclays group COO Paul Compton said: “This world-class campus will play a pivotal role in the execution of Barclays’ long-term strategic priorities, bringing teams together into new and vibrant working environments that accelerate innovation and increase collaboration.

“This will help us serve our customers, clients and shareholders, and attract and retain talent, as we shape the Barclays of the future.

“Our investment and commitment represents a historic milestone for Barclays’ operations in the Americas, and we have worked closely with the State of New Jersey to bring this project to fruition. We are very grateful for the state’s ongoing support as part of the Grow NJ Assistance Program.”
