Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.76% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 0.23% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 99.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s banking and payments industry in December 2021. 1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 64.3% in December 2021, registering a 19.96% decline over the previous month. 2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.04% share, a decrease of 30.65% over the previous month. 3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10%, registering a 22.17% decline from November 2021. 4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.69%, down 20.76% over the previous month.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 19.09% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s banking and payments industry during December 2021 over November 2021. JPMorgan Chase posted 992 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a rise of 25.89% over the previous month, followed by Evolent Health with 839 jobs and a 45.73% drop. Fiserv with 719 IT jobs and Citizens Financial Group with 477 jobs, recorded an 189.92% growth and a 39.7% decrease, respectively, while Citigroup recorded a decline of 51.41% with 448 job postings during December 2021.

By GlobalDataJunior Level jobs held a share of 58.73%, down by 20.93% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.86% share, registered a decline of 26.94% compared with the previous month. In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.36% share, down 2.07% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.05%, recording a month-on-month increase of 5.58%.
