The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 9.4% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 16.43% share in the company’s total hiring activity in October 2021, and recorded a 1.68% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Citigroup IT hiring in October 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Citigroup, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 65.56% in October 2021, and a 20.75% drop over September 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 18.72% in October 2021, and registered a decline of 8.92%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 5.83% in October 2021, an 8.7% drop from September 2021.

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in October 2021 with a 50.22% share, which marked a 5.74% drop over the previous month.
North America stood next with 30.56%, registering a 33.73% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.72% share and a 17.67% drop over September 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 4.11% and a month-on-month increase of 27.59%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.39%, registering a 25% rise over the previous month.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 36.83% share in October 2021, a 5.57% growth over September 2021. US featured next with a 23.94% share, down 34% over the previous month. China recorded a 6.5% share, a decline of 22.52% compared with September 2021.
Mid Level jobs lead Citigroup IT hiring activity in October 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 55.44%, down by 13.74% from September 2021. Junior Level positions with a 27.33% share, a decline of 17.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Senior job ads with 10.89% share, down 29.75% over September 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 6.33%, recording a month-on-month decline of 17.39%.
