Out of the total IT job titles posted by Barclays, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 73.03% in November 2021, and a 50.83% drop over October 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 16.61% in November 2021, and registered a decline of 39.16%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5.92% in November 2021, a 53.25% drop from October 2021.

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in November 2021 with a 61.51% share, which marked a 37.35% drop over the previous month.
Europe stood next with 29.44%, registering a 59.23% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with an 8.55% share and a 64.38% drop over October 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.33% and a month-on-month decline of 66.67%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.16%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 61.02% share in November 2021, a 37.12% decline over October 2021. The UK featured next with a 29.11% share, down 58.84% over the previous month. US recorded an 8.55% share, a decline of 63.89% compared with October 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Barclays IT hiring activity in November 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, down by 44.99% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.22% share, a decline of 51.69% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.96% share, down 76.62% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.82%, recording a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
