Spain-based company Banco Santander’s IT hiring rose 5.6% in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 4.83% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 9.93% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2021, and recorded a 1.18% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Banco Santander IT hiring in September 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Banco Santander, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 44.94% in September 2021, and a 25.67% drop over August 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 19.31% in September 2021, and registered a decline of 1.75%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 17.36% in September 2021, a 27.4% drop from August 2021.

Europe drives IT hiring at Banco Santander

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in September 2021 with a 60.92% share, which marked a 26.39% drop over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 15.98%, registering a 19.65% month-on-month decline. South & Central America was the third leading region with a 13.22% share and a 35.29% rise over August 2021.

In the fourth place was North America with a share of 8.28% and a month-on-month decline of 46.27%. Mexico City stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.61%, registering a 1300% rise over the previous month.

Poland commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 40% share in September 2021, a 13% decline over August 2021. Spain featured next with a 14.83% share, down 42.15% over the previous month. Brazil recorded a 12.76% share, an increase of 38.75% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Banco Santander IT hiring activity in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 84.6%, down by 20.86% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 9.54% share, a decline of 35.16% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.86% share, down 7.27% over August 2021.
