Poland-based mBank has signed a deal with a Polish telecommunications provider, Orange Polska, to create a new mobile retail bank in the second half of 2014.
Designed for smartphones and tablets users, the new service will provide customers with financial services under the Orange brand.
Some of the financial services that can be used by individual customers and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) include mobile payments, current accounts, loans, deposits, and credit and debit cards.
Additionally, customers will avail more benefits from the new, attractive packages comprising both financial and telecommunications services.
As part of the partnership, Orange Polska will look after marketing and acquisition of customers, while mBank will provide banking services to the customers.
mBank CEO, Cezary Stypu?kowski, said when a truly mobile bank and the biggest Polish telecommunications company join their forces to create a new platform, it has to be considered a clear sign of changes that are taking place on the financial services market.
