Allied Irish Banks (AIB) is reportedly seeking to offer banking via Skype by introducing video calls between staff and customers as an alternative to over-the-counter interaction.
Also, the bank will make up to 600 street ATMs accessible to visually impaired people by adding new audio technology to the dispensers, reported the Irish Independent.

The new ATMs will contain earphone ports to enable visually impaired customers to withdraw money and check balances.
However, the new technology will not lead to branch closures, said the publication.
AIB CIO Stephen White said: "There’s more of a likelihood of us opening branches than closing them."
The first batch of the upgraded ATMs, which were trialed in the bank’s its public customer ‘lab’ facility in Dublin’s Dundrum Town Centre, will be rolled out imminently.
