Digital banking platform Plumery has introduced new features and integrations to the credit unions in the Canadian market.
The expansion comes after Central 1 Credit Union’s plans to phase out its Forge digital banking platform, which has been a service provider for over 170 credit unions across Canada.
Plumery teamed up with Aequilibrium, which brings insights into the Canadian financial regulatory framework and user experience design.
The partnership is aimed at ensuring that the platform aligns with the banking habits and expectations of Canadian credit union members.
The platform offers a suite of banking features specific to Canadian users, such as bill payments, cheque deposits, and Interac e-Transfers.
It also supports Canadian financial products, including Guaranteed Investment Certificates (GICs), mortgages, and student loans, as well as business banking tools such as bulk payments and payroll management.

By GlobalDataTo comply with Canadian standards, the platform includes bilingual English and French support, adheres to privacy and data residency requirements.
Plumery’s platform is currently available, with the company already in talks with credit unions assessing their digital strategies beyond the Forge system.
Plumery CEO and founder Ben Goldin said: “With Forge winding down, Canadian institutions have a rare opportunity to modernise on their own terms, rather than being tied to outdated systems. Our platform provides an immediate, future-ready option that puts control back in the hands of credit unions.
“By working with Aequilibrium, we are combining global banking innovation with local expertise to deliver experiences that meet the unique needs of Canadian credit unions’ members.”
In July this year, Plumery integrated Salt Edge’s open banking gateway into its platform, offering users real-time access to account information and payment services across an international banking network.
