UniCredit Bulbank, the largest bank in Bulgaria by assets, has announced a branch of the future project in Bulgaria.

The project aims to transform customers’ visits to banking branches into "a pleasant" experience.

The new branch will be located in Sofia Business Park in Sofia.

Mauro Maschio, Head of CEE Retail Banking, UniCredit, said: "We wanted to launch the project in a country where UniCredit holds a leading position.

"In spite of the growing use of the Internet, still more than half of our customers prefer coming to our branches. The branch of the future project will create a pleasant environment, similar to retail establishments where customers are more inclined to spend their free time."

Maschio added that the ideas that gain the highest customer approval will be implemented into other UniCredit branches.
