Nationwide Building Society was hit with a second IT failure this week when the mutual’s online and mobile banking services went down on Thursday night.

Customers were unable to access their accounts online or through their mobile app on Thursday night, services were restored on Friday morning.

Following Tuesday’s IT failure, customers took to twitter to express their anger over the second meltdown of the week.

Nationwide responded well by keeping up to date information on their Twitter account and apologising to customers who had experienced problems.
