It has been reported that French bank BNP Paribas, the largest bank in France by assets, is set to open a new online bank.
The reports state that although the bank already offers online banking to its retail customers the new project will be entirely digital.

Sources say that the project has a target of 25,000 customers by the end of 2013.
It is rumoured that the online bank will be called "Hello Bank".
