Swiss Euro Clearing Bank (SECB), a euro payment clearing hub for Swiss banks, has selected British payments firm Earthport to deliver SWIFT payment processing services.

The services offered by Earthport will enable SECB to improve its cross-border payment capabilities, increase payment processing efficiency and offer services to its customers.

Germany-based SECB processes euro transactions for banks and other businesses domiciled in Switzerland. It is Earthport’s first client in Germany and marks an important milestone in the British firm’s growth in Europe.

SECB CEO Roland Böff said: “SECB has always been highly committed to providing its clients with secure and efficient payment services in euros on a global basis. The arrangement with Earthport will help us to further strengthen our service offering for our customers.”

Commenting on the move, Earthport CEO Hank Uberoi added: “We are committed to developing our presence in Germany, Europe’s largest economy, and to bringing the efficiency, security and transparency of the Earthport payment network to businesses in the region. We look forward to partnering with SECB to provide improved payment capabilities to their clients.”
