the world’s digital bank”, Citigroup has rolled
out a new retail banking website.

According to Citi, the
new website “raises the bar” by offering an intuitive user
experience, clean design and advanced personal finance tools with
third-party account integration.

Tracey Weber, head of
internet and mobile for North America Consumer Banking,
said:

“It’s time for online
banking to catch up with the rest of consumer
e-commerce.

“We listened to our
clients, and designed the site to address their need for an easier

The launch of the new Citibank Online, which will be gradually
rolled out in 2011, supports Citibank’s dedication to superior
client service and furthers CEO Vikram Pandit’s vision to become
the world’s digital bank.

In August, Michelle
Peluso, global head of marketing and internet banking at Citi, told
RBI:

“”To be in the
digital space, you have to be passionate about digital as it is
such a dynamic, exciting time.

“We are making really
good progress across the digital space and I am really happy with
the results so far, but I just want to keep setting the bar
higher,” said Peluso.

Citi’s digital drive
includes the launch in August of a dedicated table banking service
as well as rolling out Citi m-banking in an additional 28
countries.

By the end of the year,
Peluso has targeted Citi to offer mobile banking in 40 countries
around the world.
