Spanish banking major Banco Sabadell has forged an information technology (IT) partnership with IBM to enhance its digital banking solutions and services in Mexico.
The bank will leverage IBM Cloud and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to host its IT infrastructure without a physical branch and improve its applications for end consumers.
IBM will help the 100% mobile bank in Mexico streamline its flagship banking-as-a-service (BaaS) model while reinforcing security and compliance readiness.
The BaaS model is powered by IBM’s API Connect solution, which helps the bank create new online financial services and apps for its clients.
IBM Latin America general manager Ana Assis said: “IBM’s secured and open public cloud strategy, combined with our deep financial services industry experience, will help the bank drive innovation around its operations to provide new and enriched experiences for its clients while helping to reshape the future of banking for the entire territory.”
The latest collaboration will help Sabadell address its need for flexibility, scalability and security to offer an online banking platform with an aim to reach one million clients across Mexico.
