Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK) has teamed up with telecom company Zain to offer cloud solutions and data center services.
Under the collaboration, the Kuwaiti telecom company will enable CBK to overhaul its integrated digital infrastructure by leveraging its cloud solutions.
The platforms offered by the telecom firm encompass Zain Business Data Center (ZBDC) services like data storage and security and connectivity.
It will also deliver network cabling and management services, connectivity, CCTV, service management, among others.
The partnership with Zain is part of the bank’s strategy to move towards Hi-Tech Banking & digital innovation while maintaining the security and confidentiality of information.
CBK chairman Sheikh Ahmad said: “This partnership reflects the bank’s efforts towards digital transformation and the employment of sophisticated technology systems with a view to keep up with the latest digital innovation technologies.
“The bank endeavours to cooperate and partner with digital service and solution providers in Kuwait, particularly Zain – the leading IT solution, communication and cloud computing provider.”
The agreement was signed at the bank’s headquarters in Kuwait City.
Zain vice-chairman and group CEO Bader Nasser said: “Storing digital assets securely and efficiently is becoming a key differentiator to businesses in general, and financial services institutions in particular, and it is important we have robust systems in place to be able to store, access, retrieve and restore data.”
Through this move, CBK aims to increase its retail and corporate customer base without compromising on the security and confidentiality of information.
