Singapore banking and payments industry registered a 1.7% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.97% in July 2021 compared with June 2021.
Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 23.21% share in July 2021, recording an increase of 0.21% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Singapore banking and payments industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.24% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore banking and payments industry in July 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.1% in July 2021, a 6.64% drop over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.06% share, decline of 35.07% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.51%, registering a 12.94% decline from June 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.25%, up 5.71% over the previous month.
Top five banking and payments companies in Singapore IT recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 17.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore banking and payments industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Temasek Holdings (Private) posted 113 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a rise of 8.65% over the previous month, followed by DBS Group Holdings with 66 jobs and a 49.23% drop. Standard Chartered with 47 IT jobs and Visa with 35 jobs, recorded a 20.34% drop and a 59.09% increase, respectively, while JPMorgan Chase recorded a 19.51% decline with 33 job postings during July 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 48.63%, down by 11.74% from June 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.75% share, a decline of 22.69% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.39% share, up 26.19% over June 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 8.24%, recording a month-on-month decline of 26.32%.
