Notably, social media was one of the most frequently referenced themes in Q4 2023, ranking highest in terms of mentions, ahead of cybersecurity and electric vehicles, according to GlobalData.

Of the top leading companies in the banking & payments industry, Coinbase Global had the greatest increase in references for social media in Q4 2023, compared with the previous quarter. GlobalData identified five social media-related sentences in the company's filings - 0.2% of all sentences - and an increase of 67% in Q4 2023 compared with Q4 2022. Visa’s mentions of social media rose by 33% to 4 and Raymond James Financial’s by 200% to 3 and Rocket’s by 50% to 3 and Bank of America’s by 80% to 2.
